André Le Gallo

Mr. Le Gallo is the author of  The Caliphate, a novel published in January 2010,  which draws on his career with the CIA in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.    Mr. Le Gallo weathered several coups, a war and a revolution.  He has been mentioned in two books on the CIA; he has spoken at prestigious venues; and he has held posts in academia and private business.

He was CIA Chief of Station in Mali, Romania, Israel and Belgium managing collection, counterintelligence, and special operations.  He also served in Laos, Thailand, the Congo, Algeria, Morocco and Iran.  He has extensive experience on each side of the Arab-Israeli conflict.  While at CIA Headquarters, he held senior positions in the Near East, Latin America, West Europe Divisions, the National Intelligence Council, and in the Inspector General Staff.

As the National Intelligence Officer for Counterterrorism, Mr. LeGallo briefed senior officials and policy makers, and testified to Congress.  He was a  Vice President for Corporate and International Security for Enron, a Fortune 10 company with a presence in over thirty countries.

Following his CIA and business careers, he consulted for the CIA’s Recruitment Center and was a board member for a think-tank under the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He has spoken at  numerous universities including Harvard Law School, Rice, UC Berkeley, Stanford,  and National Labs., Microsoft and Oracle, and other groups such as the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco.

Mr. Le Gallo holds a B.A.from Lehigh University. He attended Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Study, the National War College, the Ecole Nationale d’Administration in Paris, and Thunderbird University in Phoenix. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Hoover Institution (Stanford University).
